Tip Top Thrift Shop (the Shop) has been a part of Omaha, NE for more than four decades. It originally was staffed by volunteers of local churches. At one time the Shop supported Ulta Halee Home for Girls. Upon their closing, the Shop sought out a local non-profit organization that could serve a broader community.
The Shop selected Youth Emergency Services (YES) as their donation beneficiary because they assist a wider demographic of youth who face situations in life that are unfortunate as well as dangerous.
The Shop’s mission is to support YES through financial aid, volunteerism, advocacy and community outreach.
YES assists youth who are homeless or near homeless, and who need food, shelter, clothing, and other needs to become stable and independent. The organization helps develop the youth through emergency shelter, independent living, continuing their education, and finding employment.
The Shop is located in Benson, 5910 Maple Street, and has a devoted following of customers and volunteers. Each year, the Shop continues to surpass its financial goals for YES. This is made possible through the efforts of its many dedicated volunteers and shop supporters.
The Shop offers a wide variety of merchandise and prides itself with the ‘best prices in town’. It is a great place to shop and a better place to volunteer!
The Shop is always looking for more dedicated volunteers to work at the Shop.
The Shop is open:
Thursdays-10:00-4:00 p.m.
Fridays-10:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.
Saturdays-10:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.
Some of the Shop’s current volunteers, have been previously helped by YES, and are paying it forward and volunteering at the Shop. Both men and women are welcome to volunteer.
